Object - Purpose

The proposed Postgraduate Program in “Epidemiology and Health Promotion” focuses on a highly specialized and innovative scientific field. Epidemiology and its applications in Health Promotion is a specialized, scientific, and research field that combines two thematic axes: one in Epidemiology, which provides a strong scientific and methodological foundation for studying and interpreting data, and another in Health Promotion.

Skills

The combination of these two scientific and research axes focuses on identifying and further studying health determiners, but also on utilizing etiological knowledge for the design, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive, well-documented, and methodologically sound interventions and protection plans, as well as plans for the prevention and promotion of health in.

Professional skills

After completing the postgraduate program, the student will be able to design and develop policies that contribute to the following:

• Assessment of the community’s health status
• Validated definition of intervention and action priorities
• An understanding and defined application of continuous renewal in scientific updates, as more than half of the articles published in prestigious international journals have a strong epidemiological foundation;
• A rational and methodologically consistent planning, implementing, and evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of comprehensive prevention and promotion of health programs.
