QUANTITATIVE METHODOLOGY IN DATA COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS

The investigation and management of health problems of a population is greatly based on the objective and unbiased collection, analysis and interpretation of epidemiological data. The purpose of this course is to educate students about the basic principles, techniques and methods of Biostatistics so that they can appropriately test each type of data and understand the limitations in its application.

 

In this context, students will study in depth and be able to:

· understand the basic statistical methods of Descriptive and Inferential Biostatistics

· choose the appropriate statistical test according to the research question

· interpret the results of statistical tests, understand the statistical significance of the results and reach to conclusions

· understand and assess the use of specific statistical tests and the results of statistical analysis reported in scientific publications
