What Does the Programm Offer

The MSc aims to provide high quality education in the scientific field of Epidemiology and its application in the field of Health Promotion. In this regard, the connection between the classical epidemiological approach and methodology and the long-standing need for coordinated and evidence-based action in the design, implementation and evaluation of integrated interventions and health prevention and health promotion programs will be established.

Upon successful completion of the MSc, students will have acquired scientific knowledge and developed skills to be able to:

  • use available sources of epidemiological data
  • collect methodologically sound primary descriptive data
  • use secondary data to assess health needs and resources
  • collect valid primary data for the assessment of health needs and resources
  • understand and develop a critical approach to the possibilities and limitations of epidemiological methods and sources and their implications in Health Promotion
  • formulate and test causal hypotheses about the relationship between determinants and health conditions
  • design epidemiological surveys of preventive intervention at all levels of prevention (primary, secondary and tertiary) level to address specific public health issues
  • implement integrated interventions and preventive intervention programs at all levels of prevention to address specific public health issues
